The challenge
A solo consultant running compliance engagements across 25+ frameworks had a business that outgrew its tooling: website inquiries landed in an inbox and sometimes died there, prospects lived in a spreadsheet, and every client engagement demanded hours of hand-assembled status reporting. The practice's constraint wasn't expertise — it was that the principal was the back office.
What we built
A self-hosted business platform shaped around how a security practice actually runs:
- Automated lead capture — every website form submission becomes a CRM record with source tracking and an instant acknowledgment; nothing depends on inbox discipline.
- Pipeline and nurture — prospects move through defined stages with an automated email sequence keeping the practice in front of slow-moving buyers (security sales cycles are long).
- Compliance dashboard — engagement status across frameworks in one view, with audit-trail logging fit for a security practice's own scrutiny.
- Automated client reporting — recurring status reports generated from live engagement data and delivered on schedule, instead of assembled by hand at midnight.
Self-hosting mattered here twice over: the consultant keeps client security data under their own control, and the platform itself demonstrates the posture they sell.
How it works
Web forms feed the CRM directly; the CRM drives both the nurture automation and the compliance dashboard; the report generator reads engagement data and produces scheduled client deliverables. One data layer, four functions, zero copy-paste.
The results
Since launch the practice has logged zero missed leads — every inquiry gets captured and acknowledged automatically. Reporting that consumed evenings now runs itself, saving about 8 hours a week, and proposals go out 40% faster because prospect context is already in the pipeline. The platform paid for itself by month eight.
Where this pattern fits
Solo and small consultancies of every kind hit this wall: the work scales, the back office doesn't. This engagement is the template — capture every lead automatically, put delivery status on one dashboard, and let reports write themselves — with data sovereignty as a feature, not an afterthought.
